Project Trident Newsletter

Dear customer

We are looking to hear from Xoserve customers within the gas sector who have had recent experience with a migration from SAP (in particular ECC6 ISU) or any other large replatforming programmes.

Project Trident aims to modernise UK Link, which is currently operated on SAP ECC6 ISU. Within the Tide, the Project Trident newsletter published last week, we discussed how the team are now focusing on three potential options for the future UK Link solution following our Market Engagement exercise.

These options as presented in our Strategic Outline Case (SOC) are:

  • SAP Renewal (S/4HANA): Buy and rebuild SAP to run the next generation of SAP’s product suite (S/4HANA). No in situ upgrade available.
  • Self-Build: Build own solution specific to Xoserve’s requirements and business processes.
  • Hybrid: Build and buy. Buy a packaged product and build significant parts of the solution.

If you have had recent experience of any of these types of transformations, we’d love to hear from you and to have a short discussion to understand if there are any lessons learned or insights that we could benefit from.

Please respond to our short survey (less than 2 minutes) and share your experience - we would welcome all perspectives.

Thank you,

Project Trident Stakeholder SME

Why Project Trident?

The name Trident captures the three elements of UK Link that will need upgrading or replacing.

Core - a bespoke configuration of SAP ISU ECC6 and SAP BW

VCO - a collection of systems that validate, convert, and orchestrate data in and out of Core, maintaining data quality and integrity

Customer Edge – customer-facing systems that DSC parties use daily to engage with Xoserve and Core.
